K's Book Review

THOUGHTS BEFORE I am not going to lie, for the longest time I have had an irrational fear of David Bowie. There is no description to the fear I feel any time I hear his voice or see his face. Don't get me wrong, though, I don't think he is a bad person. I honestly think he is attractive and has an interesting story. No matter how much I tell myself it is ridiculous I may never get over my fear of him. You may be thinking, "K, if you are scared of him why are you reading his biography?" Simple answer? My friend bought it for me for Christmas as a joke because his face is on the cover and she enjoys tormenting me. I figured since I don't normally read biographies that I will give it a shot. After all, this is a book blog and that means reading books of all different kinds. The next section will give you my thoughts on the matter AFTER reading the book. Hey everyone! So lately I have had a bit of an obsession with the movie The Labyrinth with David Bowie, and I was shocked to find out that there was a 'sequel' of sorts, in the form of a graphic novel. I bought them all in excitement, and I really must say that I enjoyed reading them. There are only 4 volumes in the series, and it gives a new light on the original story. Thirteen years after Sara left the labyrinth by defeating Jareth, Toby, her younger brother, has finally grown up. He is a teenager, who is given everything he wants in life through... odd means... As it turns out, Jareth has been keeping an eye on his old friend, and has been sending goblins to cater to his every need, even if he doesn't know it. But Jareth has reasons for pampering Toby. The young boy doesn't know it yet, but Jareth is getting ready to 'retire' as the Goblin King, and needs someone to take his place. And Toby is the boy for the job.
