Futuristic Violence and Fancy Suits by David Wong

Hey everyone, I hope you're having a good Monday. For the longest time I have had this book sitting on my shelf, too intimidated to read it. Many of you may know how much I love David Wong and his book series John Dies at the End, which I wrote 5 star reviews for every book. This isn't from that series but has the same sort of humour. I finally picked the book up again to read in between classes. What started out as just reading a few pages while waiting for the prof to finally show up turned into secretly reading under my desk instead of paying attention to lectures. I finished the book in two days but it took about 12 hours total to read. Where I can normally skim read a book in a couple of hours I couldn't skim a page without missing something incredibly funny. But all the time spent reading was well worth it. Let me tell you a bit about it: Zoey Ashe lives in a trailer park with her mother and cat Stench Machine. She isn't your typical hero of the future. This Book is Full of Spiders by David Wong

Good morning everyone. Last week I bought this book intend on putting it aside until I finished all other books on my shelf. Somehow I started reading the first chapter, just to see what it would be like, and 10 hours later the book was finished and I was feeling very tired.  So you may remember I did the review for John Dies at the End which is the first book in this series. The only reason I am doing the second book as a review is because it could also be a stand alone book, as is pointed out in the first chapter by the author.  But as much as you don't need to read the first book to understand this book I would still recommend it because there are reoccurring characters that make the book that much better. So let me try to give you an idea of what to expect when you start reading this book. Spiders. As the title suggests there are in fact spiders in this book even if they aren't exactly spiders. Instead think generally medium sized (small eno...

“So I just shaved half of the dog. I think she wants to look different when she is coming and going. That is one weird dog, David.” – John high on Sauce (this is not a direct quote because my book is out of my reach at the moment but I remember this sentence pretty well) Hey everyone! I hope you are having a good Monday. This week I read John Dies at the End by David Wong. This was recommended to me by my roommate but I was hesitant to read it because it was in the horror section. Often times I try to avoid reading horror books because they freak me out. Boy am I glad that I decided to read this one. I was not prepared for the hilarity and nonsense that the book puts forward. David Wong (the character in the book, not the author) is sitting in a small restaurant waiting for a reporter to come to interview him. When he arrives he prepares to tell him a story that is just as hard to believe as it is impossible. We are taken back to the night it all began. At a gig for their b...
