K's Book Review

Hey everyone! So as you might remember a couple of weeks ago I read Kitty Hawk and the Curse of the Yukon Gold. The author was kind enough to send me a few more books in the series (yay!) which I was very much looking forward to reading. I find Kitty to be almost like a modern day, Canadian, Nancy Drew.  Once again the dedication page, "dedicated to those who love Taylor Swift music as much as I do," made me laugh quite a bit. The author really does have a great sense of humour. As you all know that makes a book that much better to read.  While I normally don't do second books in my reviews to keep from ruining the first book for people I am making an exception here because it could be read as a standalone if needed. The characters are all new (save for a few letters to a character from the first book) and Kitty herself is not hard to pick up on. So let me tell you a bit about what this book is about. Hello again everyone, this week I have actually read a book, even if it isn't so much a popular teen book that I have been doing in the past. This time I decided to switch it up and read a history book I took out from my school's library. I love history, and as a Canadian there is nothing cooler than to read about the disastrous history of my country. It was a great book, and I learned a lot from it, but I won't be doing much of a review on the book. It had different stories from different elements all over the country from mine disasters to natural disasters like tornados and floods. It was well written, and captivating, so I would give it a 4 out of 5 star rating. But I would not recommend anyone to read this book. Now that isn't because it isn't a good book, not at all. Hey everyone! Now this post is going to be a bit different then what you all are used to. Normally I would show you a picture of the book I read, tell you a bit about it, and then rate it. But today I am going to tell you about a series, not at all related, but at the same time, has a lot to do with each other. It is called the 'Dear Canada' series. Each book, and there are a lot of them, has a different writer, and a different story from the perspective of either a little girl or a little boy. From book to book they are in the form of a Diary from the children's point of view of events that changed Canada greatly. The first one I read took place during the Halifax explosion, and described from the little girl's perspective how she loses her family, and how she suffers with her town.
