This week I got back into using my phone to read books because I couldn't make a trip out to the bookstore to resupply myself. This book was recommended to my by a few people so I thought I would give it a try. First impressions were pretty good. The main character is funny as hell, constantly cracking jokes and taking everything, good and bad, in the best way possible. I knew going into the book that it would be funny but I wasn't prepared for how much I truly enjoyed it. So let me tell you a bit about it: Charley Davidson is a Private Investigator with a few tricks up her sleeve. Since she was born she has been able to see ghosts and help them move on. Good morning everyone, I hope you are all having a wonderful morning. Spring is coming, which means the weather is finally starting to warm up a bit here in the frozen north. Nothing gets me into the reading mood more than a little spring fever. Now this book has been on my shelf quite literally since last year and still smells like the bathroom floor in my old dorm room. Since I have run out of books to read I decided it was time to stop being picky about what I was reading and get through the books I started a year ago. I had no expectations for this book because in the year since I bought it I had forgotten what it was about. I long since lost the paper cover for it so unless I wanted to look online for the description (which I didn't) I was reading blind. In the end that was probably a good thing. Welcome back everyone, it is Monday again which means another review. This week I read a large book of short stories written by woman on the topic of ghosts. I was mainly interested because it had Kelly Armstrong, and I am a fan of hers. While not all of the stories involved ghosts as we think of them, they always had something to do with spirits from the past of some sort.  I can't really do a description for the book where I go into detail because there are too many stories to summarize. But I can tell you that as in most cases some stories were good and some weren't very good. That is to be expected when you have so many different authors in one large book. In the end I was disappointed by Kelly Armstrong's story, as it was the shortest and one of the first that I really didn't enjoy reading.  Another thing I learned while reading this book is that it isn't something you should try to read in one sitting, or over a period of days. Good day everyone. This week I have read the book Swoon, which I have to say was a lot different than I had expected it to be when I had picked it out a few months ago. When it was first released I believe it had been intended to be a single novel, or at least that is the feeling I got when I read it, so I was surprised to see that a couple of years after it was published the author had written the second book in the series.  Candice has just moved to Swoon hoping to leave her tormented past behind her, even if the ghost of her dead best friend intends to follow her where ever she goes. She is living a pretty perfect life there until her cousin falls from a tree and nearly dies. After she is released from the hospital it is pretty clear that something has changed in her. Good day to you, my fellow readers. I have just been informed that there is a possibility that this book, Paranormalcy, will be being made into a movie. So, in light of the good news, I thought I would give a review to the book, even though I read it a year or two ago. I loved the book, and I loved the cover, and best of all, it is a trilogy, my favourite! Evie is your everyday teenager living in a secret lab that deals with Paranormals. What are Paranormals you might ask? Well, a paranormal are anything from vampires to ghosts, to anything that isn't classified as 'human'. This lab hunts down rogue paranormals and 'tags' them, and then gives them jobs where they can live their lives and not have to pose a danger to the humans. Now, Evie is basically human, but she is special in a few ways. One, she can see past the glamour of paranormals and can see what they really are when they are trying to hide.
