K's Book Review

Hey everyone. Sorry for the late review on this one. I had meant to have this done for Monday morning but I had a very busy weekend taking care of an injured baby squirrel. But it's with the humane society now so I have time to write the review. The book came out just last week so I haven't missed the boat by too much here. I've already read and reviewed two other books by this author that have no connection to this one (as far as I can tell). It is also one in a series of other books, according to Goodreads, but they also don't have any connection. So it is a standalone book in a series with the same general name, The Soul Mate Tree. Hey everyone, I'm back again. I know it's been a while but now that I am back in school I am going to try to keep a more regular reading schedule. I won't be working so much so I'm hoping I'll actually want to read and write more often. And I'll start that by catching up on books I've read and writing the reviews for them. Hey everyone I hope you're having a good week. It's been a while since I last posted since I've been so busy between two jobs. To be honest I've been worked so hard that I started losing interest in all the things I used to love. I stopped reading because when I wasn't working I was sleeping and I started questioning if the things I had been working for years on were worth it. But now I'm trying to work through it. In the future, until I get some time off, I'll be posting a review whenever I finish a book and get time to write it. This book was sent to me by the author. I literally knew nothing when I started reading the book so I didn't have any expectations. But once I started reading the book I noticed a few problems with it, but I'll get into that a little later. The basis of the story is that it's a man, a spy, trying to assassinate because it's what he's been trained to do. Let me tell you what it's all about: Thomas is probably the worst spy in the world. From the very beginning he messes up the one job he was given leading to him being hospitalized when his job eventually fails. Hey everyone! A few weeks ago you may remember that I read the first book in this series 'Jorie and the Magic Stones'. The author was kind enough to send me a copy of the second book in the series to read as well. In the previous book we saw Jorie, a young woman from the human realm travel to the magical world where dragons rule the skies. She and her friend Rufus were tasked with retrieving the magic stones that would grant any who hold them the power to rule over the world. At the end of their adventure Jorie returned to the world and left the stones in the hands of the Great Wizard who promised to protect them from the Dark Lord. I enjoyed the first book so I jumped at the chance to read the continuation of Jorie's story. The cover of the book is amazing and the colours jump out at you right away. Hey everyone. This week I finished reading this book that the author was kind enough to send to me. My first thoughts were that it was going to be another book about mermaids that I really had no interest in. Thankfully I am open to giving books a chance because this was nothing that I could have expected. The whole book shoots between different points of view of all people involved in one event. Since there are so many important points of view I'll just give a summary of each persons goal throughout the book, instead of a summary: A man walking along a beach one morning finds a man washed up on the shore with severe wounds to his body. The man calls police but notices that something about the man isn't right. Before he is taken away he takes a video with his phone of the half man, half fish, he found. From here the story takes off. The 'Merman' is then quickly passed into the hands of scientists who quickly try to determine what he is. Among the scientists there...

So expect a few in the next coming weeks, on time of course. So this is the first book of two that the author was kind enough to send me. It's been a while since I've read a sort of romance book with vampires in it. It was nice to read something professionally written in this genre. I've had the third book pretty much since they time but I haven't had the time to read it. Finally I forced myself to sit down and finish it because I owed it to the lovely author who sent it to me to finish it. Well, now I'm done and ready to do the review. Hey everyone I hope you had a great weekend. It's Halloween today and the perfect day for a spooky, scary book. So when the Tick-or-treaters finally call it a night you can finish off the evening with the perfect eerie book. I had been searching around the net for a book that would be good to read leading up to Halloween when I came across this one. It was highly recommended by a few different sight. It took me awhile to get to it because my list of books to read has been very long since I found my other pile I lost while moving. If I had read the description for this book I had long since forgotten it before I got around to reading the book. Hey everyone and happy Monday. This week I was lucky and got a nice short book to read, which means I had time to start reading next weeks book early. The author was kind enough to send me a copy to read. Like I mentioned before I could tell by looking at the page count that it would be a quick and easy read. Depending on the quality of writing in the book this could be a good or a bad thing. Luckily for me the writing was done well so the book flew by in the blink of an eye. Let me tell you a bit about the story: In this world there are many sinners and many who don't believe in the Lord. For these people there is no greater threat than when the Angels come to Earth, unleashed by a group of scientists looking to prove that God doesn't exist. Hey everyone and happy Monday! This week I read a really short book. The cover isn't all that promising since it kind of looks like it was made in Paint in like, five minutes. But we are taught not to judge a book by its cover so I read it anyway. This book isn't your typical book, as the name suggests. Instead this is a book simply listing names that are strange or unusual. I won't be doing a description of the story since there isn't one. Instead I will just give an overview of the book itself. Basically it is a list from A to Z of names throughout history that are weird or unusual. A few of the names have a comment beside them or a short history of the person if they are famous in history. Some of the histories are kind of interesting but most of the comments on the names are a little too forced. It's about the size of an average book, just about 400 pages online but it is by no means a quick read. Like Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings there is a lot of the lore and different species to learn about. Along with that there is also the add on of other worlds with even more people. My first impressions of the book were that it was a little hard to get into. The cover of the book reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons, which I am a big fan. But as a player I know that there can be a lot to do before getting into the good parts of the story so I sort of felt that the book would be a little like that. Going into this book I wasn't sure what to make of it. My thoughts were that it would be a classic science fiction book with time travel but I wasn't sure what the story really was going to be about. Hey everyone. I hope you are having a good Monday. This week I read another thriller/horror novel, which was generously send to me by the author. As many of you know I am a big fan of thriller books because they require talented writers to make them work. So when the author contacted me about reading it I was thrilled to get the chance. My first impressions of the book was that is was a little boring to start off with. But as I continued reading I found that I got used to the writing style and it wasn't so boring. This is one of the books that takes a bit of dedication to enjoy. Let me tell you a bit about it: Blaire is a volunteer teacher working with United Care to bring aid to children in other countries. She boards a train with another volunteer, Travis, who is a nurse to go to a small town to work at an orphanage for a year. When they arrive they find that things are worse than they seemed.
