Full Story Synopsis: Interview with the Vampire

SPOILER ALERT! Interview with the Vampire A young man is interviewing a man he met on the street. The man tells him he is a vampire. The boy is like, “K,” but when he runs quickly across the room into the light the boy can see for sure that he isn’t lying. He assures him that he is safe and begins to tell his story. It starts back when he was younger just over 200 years ago. His brother was deeply religious to the point where he claimed to have visions sent to him from God. The man is happy to go along with this as long as his brother is happy. But when his brother tells him to sell his estate he lashes out at him. Soon his brother falls down the stairs and dies. The man, wracked with grief, sinks into a depression and spends nights sleeping at his brother’s grave. He drinks often. "My beloved Louis." - Some random page that I can't find because I read the ebook version... The Vampire Lestat was a hilarious and thoughtful sequel to Interview with the Vampire. The best part about the book is that it acknowledges that the first book was written and published in its own universe. Learning what really happened to Lestat gave me a better appreciation for him, and it is nice to see what happens next instead of constantly being stuck in the past. Let me tell you a bit about it! He is ready to give up everything when he starts to hear a strange sound coming from outside.  A rock band has started practicing across the road from him and, believe it or not, Lestat wants to be a part of it. His thoughts go to joining with them and singing for them, but he is stuck underground. He finds his way to...

Anne Rice is pretty popular as an author and that gave me pretty high hopes while going into this. I figured that at least I would be getting a good read even if I just read half and then watched the movie. Thankfully, it was good enough for me to finish. Daniel is a young boy looking to do an interview with a vampire he has tracked down. Louis tells his story from his death in New Orleans to his rebirth through the Vampire Lestat. Then he tells of his life with him leading up to many difficult and hard decisions he had to make. They travel around until taking a young girl as a vampire and then the decision years later to kill Lestat and leave his hold to travel the world together. It's ...
