K's Book Review

Hey everyone I hope you are having a good week. I missed last week because of work and interviews but I did actually finish a few books that I just didn't get around to writing reviews for. So expect a few in the next coming weeks, on time of course. So this is the first book of two that the author was kind enough to send me. I will be reviewing the second one I just don't know when I'll get the time to finish it. I'll try to get it done in the next month as long as work doesn't get in the way. It's been a while since I've read a sort of romance book with vampires in it. It was nice to read something professionally written in this genre. A lot of people can say that Twilight left a bad taste in their mouth. But this book is by no means Twilight. It is clearly aimed for the adult audience with language and sexual content. Hey everyone, I hope you are having a good morning. This week (or a couple weeks ago) I started reading A Discovery of Witches. But before we talks about what the book is about there is something else we need to discuss about it.  So I bought this book after waiting for a month to have the money for it. It was thick, the cover was beautiful, the description was perfect, and overall I had really high hopes for it. My hopes were so high in fact that I didn't read it for so long because I was worried about it disappointing me. And my fears were right.  Diana is a witch. Her whole family comes from a very powerful line of witches dating back to the witch trials in Salem years ago. This would be awesome for Diana if she actually wanted to be a witch. But she hates who she is. She has rejected the whole magical world including vampires, demons, witches and so on. Instead she has thrown herself into studying history and is now working for a University doing research in London....

So I know what you are all thinking. What is K doing? Reading Twilight? Don't you know how soooooooo over it is? The answer is YES I know all of that and YES I am still doing a review on it, now let me tell you why... While it is true that Twilight is a thing of the past and has been greatly over popularized it is still a book that once did very well among people before they decided it sucked. I like to think of this series as a 'gateway drug' into reading. I will admit that before the hype about Twilight I didn't do a lot of reading because I was young and preferred other things.... like anime.... SO my mom had heard about the books and bought them for me to read. At first I didn't want to but after a while I tried a shot at them (keep in mind that this was before the movies came out). I actually loved the series when it came out and for months I re-read the saga over and over again until my mom told me to read something better.... After that was when I start...

Hello everyone, can you believe how quickly time passes? I mean, it seams like just yesterday that I started writing this blog and look how far I've come! I love writing here, and I love reading, and I am very thankful for everyone who has supported me up until this point! This week I read Glass Houses, which is the first in a very long line of books in this series. I have read a few of the other books, and I really do like them, because they come out quickly, the books, and they have a great atmosphere to them. Claire is new in Morganville, and is having a bit of trouble with her schooling because of bullies. That doesn't really get her down, and she ends up eventually moving into the Glass House in town with Michael Glass (I think that was his name :S) and a few other people.  It is weird for her moving in with two boys, but at least there is a girl living there, despite how weird she is. But the boys in the house are hiding a secret, that even her new friend doesn...
