Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J. K. Rowling

Happy Monday everyone! This is it, the last book in the Harry Potter series. By far the longest and, arguably, the best book in the series. Now that I'm finally finished I wish there were more books to read. I can happily say that I enjoyed this series. For those who have not yet read this series, whether they had seen the movies or not, I would recommend giving this a read. Now that I've finished reading the books I would like to rewatch the movies, even though I know I don't like them as much as the books. Some people may have a different view on this, it's just the way I feel. Let me tell you about it: Dumbledore is dead. The Order of the Phoenix is on the run. The Ministry of Magic has been taken over by Death Eaters. But that doesn't Harry and his friends are going to give up. They finally know what they need to do to kill the Dark Lord, even if it means they can't tell anyone in their families. Harry and the others have decided not to go back to Ho...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling

Hey everyone I hope you are having a lovely Monday. I'm continuing with my binge of the Harry Potter series. This is the second last book in the series so I'm very close to getting it all done. When I first started reading the series I didn't have much hope for finishing it. Now that I'm almost done I'm truly enjoying reading it more and more. I am starting to understand why there is such a devoted fan base. I'm still not the biggest fan of the movies but I can enjoy the books a lot more now. So for those of you who have read the other books let me tell you a bit about it: Harry is once again back at Hogwarts school for Wizards but now things are getting heated. Dumbledore has personally taken on the responsibility of teaching Harry to make sure he is ready when the Dark Lord returns to fight him. He is given many tasks by his headmaster that he has trouble taking seriously. All around him he finds clues that lead him to believe that his enemy Malfoy is ...

Hey everyone I hope you're having a great Monday. As you can see I finally got back into reading the Harry Potter series after taking a very long time off. It started off as a way to listen to a book while taking my dog for a walk. When that wasn't moving as quickly as I can read I broke out the books again. Needless to say it has taken up most of my weekend finishing the series. I may have mentioned in the past that I'm not the biggest Harry Potter fan. I still don't enjoy the first couple movies but I've found myself liking the last couple ones more and more in the last couple weeks. My roommate has been a big help with this one. Many of you have already read these books but for those who haven't, and have read the other books before this one, I'll tell you a bit about it: Harry is having one of the worst weeks of his life, and that's saying something. He's been charged with using magic in front of muggles after saving his cousin from a pack...

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all feeling well relaxed after the weekend. Last week I finished yet another Harry Potter book, slowly inching my way to finishing the series. As I have mentioned in previous posts I am enjoying the Harry Potter books more and more as I go along. This one was just as good as the last if not better. It is evident that Ms. Rowling is improving her writing skill (which was already impressive to begin with) as she continues to write. So Harry is back once again attending the world tournament for wizards with Ron and Hermione. He is enjoying watching Victor Krum (a popular player) take over the game and enjoying the last of his summer while still in contact with his God father Sirius.  Soon danger finds him again as a group of Death Eaters (Voldemorts supporters) crash the games tormenting the muggles there. It all comes to a end though when a spell is cast into the sky to show the dark mark signifying Voldemort.  Harry and his friends ...

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

Good morning everyone I'm back with another Harry Potter review. This one, being the third book, is my favourite of the series so far I would say. Out of all of the movies I liked this one the most so I knew that there was a good chance of me enjoying this book as well. The more I read these books the more I notice the difference between them and the movies.  But let me tell you a bit about it. So Harry is back at his aunt and uncle's for the summer, much to his regret. As always things aren't going so great and he ends up leaving before the end of summer after using magic in front of the humans. On his way about town he is picked up by a bus and is soon taken back to the school where he finds out he isn't in trouble for using magic. With Ron and Hermione by his side he sets off for another great year with his friends, hopefully with less danger than before. Unfortunately, things are possibly even more dangerous as Harry finds out when Sirius Black, the man who ...

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

Good day everyone, I hope you had a good weekend. A long time ago (as in maybe a year or so ago) I did a very short review for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. I had said back then that I didn't enjoy the first book all that much and that I hadn't intended to continue on with the series. But after a bit of time I decided to go back to it and read it very slowly online by reading at least one page a day (I have a good memory so I was able to keep up with it). Now I am on the fourth book and I think it is time for me to do a review for the books I have read. So for now I will do the second book in the series and the third a little later on and so on. So Harry is back at Hogwarts after suffering for a summer at the hands of his aunt, uncle, and idiotic cousin. He is joined by Ron and Hermione as he begins his second year as a wizard. With Voldemort now seemingly out of the picture again he is hoping to have a better year.  Things don't get off to a great sta...

My Idea for a Harry Potter Spin Off!

So although the books weren't for me, that doesn't mean the movies were as well. I didn't have to movies, but being the stupid person who always asks useless questions during the movie as though they were real, I felt there was something missing... In my ideal spin off of Harry Potter it would be in TV show format. We would look back starting the exact moment Harry's mom found out she was a Witch. Not only would we get to see how Harry's Aunt and Uncle were when they were younger but it would give us great insight into Harry's moms life.  Then we would see her at Hogwarts meeting all the characters we love, including Harry's dad, Snape, Serious Black, and everyone's favourite character Tom Riddle... Since we are looking back that far we would also get to see Moaning Myrtle (I'm sorry about the spelling) backstory about before she died. Think of all the characters, think back to all the things that weren't explained in detail. If Harry's d...
