K's Book Review

SPOILER ALERT! Dracula When we start out we see through a diary style of writing a man named Jonathan Harker who has gone to a man called Count Dracula’s house to speak with him of his move to London. While there he notices that the Count that eat or keep any mirrors in his large home. Certain rooms are locked to him making him very curious. As time goes on he starts to realize that he isn’t being allowed to leave. He tries to send word to his fiancé Mina that he needs help but the Count intercepts him. He meets three woman who live in the home who are try to kill him one night and begins to grow weak as the Count continues feeding on him at night. He makes plans to try to escape. Back in London Mina is writing in her diary how worried she is about John. Her friend Lucy has gotten engaged and is soon to be married. The two get along very well it seems. Soon a ship called the Demeter arrives with a crew completely dead on the ship. The only thing on the ship is a large wolf...

Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good Monday so far. As promised I am back with another review. This week I thought I would kick it old school and read the original Dracula. I got this really awesome looking copy from Chapters and I was so excited to read it! I know a lot of younger people have not read Dracula, and seeing as it is over 100 years old I am not all that surprised. But as an avid reader I find it is my duty to read all of the older books as well as the newer ones. So let me tell you a bit about the book: The book is in diary style format, which I loved. It gives you a few different points of view as to what is going on in different places during this time.  Jonathan Harker is newly promoted in his real-estate business and is sent out by his boss to speak with the Count Dracula about his recent purchase of a castle in the London area. Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all keeping well. I hope you are all working hard on your reading list or, if you aren't working on a reading list, that you are at least reading. I have recently picked up a few new books with one common theme: Vampires. It has been a while since I have read a good vampire book (one not meant to make teenage girls squeal). I picked up Bram Stoker's Dracula so that I can read a classic, and I will be reading Interview with a Vampire. I haven't seen the movie but I will most likely watch it after I read the book if I think it will be as good as everyone tells me that it is.  So far I am keeping up with the reading challenge, but I am struggling not to fall behind. Thankfully I will have a week off school to get ahead of my readings which means that I will have many more reviews to add on the coming Monday's.  Well that is all I have to update for today.
