K's Book Review

Hey everyone. Sorry for the late review on this one. I had meant to have this done for Monday morning but I had a very busy weekend taking care of an injured baby squirrel. But it's with the humane society now so I have time to write the review. The book came out just last week so I haven't missed the boat by too much here. I've already read and reviewed two other books by this author that have no connection to this one (as far as I can tell). It is also one in a series of other books, according to Goodreads, but they also don't have any connection. So it is a standalone book in a series with the same general name, The Soul Mate Tree. Hey everyone, as promised I am back with a review of Good Omens. I absolutely loved this book! I was excited to read it before I got it online, and when I finished I went out right away to buy the hard copy simply to read it again. There are bonuses to having the hard copy but I will get into that after I do the description. So here we go! Crowley is a demon, or a fallen angel though the book states that he did not so much fall as saunter downwards, who has been given a task. He is to deliver the Anti-Christ to the hospital where he will be placed into the care of an unknowing human to raise until he is ready to bring on the apocalypse. He isn't so keen to this and seeks assistance from his best friend (?) Aziraphale (who we will refer to as Az because it is too hard to pronounce) who is an angel of the gates of heaven. Hello everyone I hope you are having a good week. I thought this week I would do Kissed by an Angel, although I will not lie to you I really did not enjoy this book. This particular edition that I have the cover of is actually three books in one and for me it was two book too long to be enjoyable. The story isn't one that you can be satisfied leaving off after the first book in the volume. You actually have to read the whole thing to even have a general idea of what is really going on. By time I got to the end I was just happy that the damn thing was over with. Ivy is scared of water because she almost drown as a child. Tristan teachers her how to swim and soon they have a budding romance which quickly blossoms into true love. It's too bad Tristan just died in a car accident leaving Ivy heart broken and alone. Hey everyone, so this week I will be doing a review on another series, instead of a single book. You might be seeing a lot of these in the next little while depending on how things go, because some people don't want to get into a series and realize they don't want to keep reading, and therefore the book is kind of ruined. This doesn't happen to everybody, but anyone who reads as much as I do would run into it once or twice. So this week I thought I would do the run off of a classic 'Clockwork Angel', the prequel to the Mortal Instruments novels that have recently become a popular movie series as well. Now, I don't personally think you need to read the first novels to understand what is happening in this one, but it certainly makes it easier to understand, and there are a lot more 'AHA!' moments if you do. Hey everyone, this week I read Breath in the dark. This was yet another book sent to me by the lovely author and GoodReads.com for review on, and it was an adventure from start to finish. I think I cried a lot while reading this book, not because it hit close to home, but because it was truly a sad story, and was so well written that at times it brought me to tears. The story follows a little six year old girl as she struggles through poverty to care for her sick mother. She wears the same dress every day, does not know how to use the bathroom, and walks for miles every day to beg the doctor for the pills that keep her mother alive. Time and time again her mother is admitted to the Hospital to be cared for, and the little girl is taken to homes where they try to discipline her to no avail. But in the end, all she wants is to be by her mothers side to make sure she is always ok. She is allowed to go back to take care of her mother, but life never gets any easier for this ...
