K's Book Review

Hey everyone. I hope you are having a good Monday! A few of you might remember an eternity ago when I did the review of the first book in this series. I've had the third book pretty much since they time but I haven't had the time to read it. Finally I forced myself to sit down and finish it because I owed it to the lovely author who sent it to me to finish it. Well, now I'm done and ready to do the review. As always I am absolutely blown away by how much research has been put into this book. The situations the characters are put in are detailed and well thought out. The author has clearly improved his already well honed writing style. For the series as a whole I was very impressed. Hey everyone I hope you are having a good Monday. This week I decided to read a book that is more of a non-fiction book that a historical-fiction. I had picked this book up after reading another non-fiction book since it was so good and got me in the mood for some historical reading. Some of you may know that I love history of World War Two and anything going on during the periods of war. This book seemed right up my alley but I didn't enjoy it like I had hoped I would. It took me twice as long to read as a normal book simply because I kept putting it down. But let me tell you a bit about it: During World War Two there were many planes that flew all over the world fighting and keeping peace. Of the many planes and pilots that didn't make it home one sparked rumours through a country. An American bomber that crashed landed in Palau was not found despite reports of it crashing in shallow clear waters. People reported seeing the crew make it out of the plan before it crash...

Lately I have been a huge Erik Larson fan since I read Dead Wake by him a couple of weeks ago. I bought two other books by him including this one. The other one I will read in a couple of weeks and do a review for. There is something about the way he writes history while at the same time making into a story and backing up everything with proof really draws me in. I didn't like this book as much as Dead Wake but it still was interesting in its own way. Let me tell you a bit about it: The story is split between two people at the same time in history. The first is about the man who put on the National Fair in Chicago in 1893 and about the challenges it takes to get everything together in the years leading up to it. Many friendships are made and lost in the time before the fair opens. Good day everyone! This week I have read a book called Once Upon a Stolen time. This is a super special book because it comes out TOMORROW! That's right, you don't have to do the crazy wait because you only have one sleep before this amazing book comes out. In a combination of modern day and ancient times we are able to witness the coming together of two people that were literally meant for each other across time and space. But a little warning for the younger audience that this book is not completely appropriate. With that out of the way let me tell you a bit about it! Hello everyone I hope you are all having a good Monday. Once again I read another Kitty Hawk book and holy crap! I love the history of the Titanic as tragic as it is. Mr. Reading has once again outdone himself in explain history in a novel about a teenage girl flying around the world.  Kitty has landed in Europe and is attending a grand opening of her newest sponsor (found by her good friend Charlie). While there she is approached by a handsome young man who asks to hire her to solve a mystery. Side note: Hey, for once she is actually being asked to solve a mystery instead of stumbling into it! Everything starts off well when Kitty solves the first part of an ancient mystery left to the family by someone who was on Titanic. Hello again everyone, this week I have actually read a book, even if it isn't so much a popular teen book that I have been doing in the past. This time I decided to switch it up and read a history book I took out from my school's library. I love history, and as a Canadian there is nothing cooler than to read about the disastrous history of my country. It was a great book, and I learned a lot from it, but I won't be doing much of a review on the book. It had different stories from different elements all over the country from mine disasters to natural disasters like tornados and floods. It was well written, and captivating, so I would give it a 4 out of 5 star rating. But I would not recommend anyone to read this book. Now that isn't because it isn't a good book, not at all.
