Everneath by Brodi Ashton

Hello again everyone, this week we will be looking at Everneath by Brodi Ashton. Have to say I was looking forward to this book before it came out and I was happy to finally read it. So without further delay let's dive in!

Meet Nikki, who has just come back from a 100 year feed in the Everneath. What is that you ask? Well, every 100 years or so these special people that come from the magical world of the Everneath have to feed on a vessel for another 100 years to get a longer life. They do this every 100 years and they continue doing it until they die, which is never I believe.
But 100 years in the Everneath is only 6 months on Earth, and Nikki wasn't a vessel. She was a scared girl going through a lot of trouble who ran away from home and right into the hands of Cole, someone in need of a feeder. But something went wrong in the feed, and Nikki survived, being the only person ever to do it besides the current Queen. And don't you bet Cole wants everything to do with her now.
Too bad Nikki chose not to stay with him, and now only has 6 months to get her life back in order before the tunnels of the Everneath come for her and drag her to a fate worse than death. This is the story from Nikki's point of view as she tries to rekindle her lost relationship, fix what she has done with her parents, and find a way to save herself from the tunnels.
But the worst part is, Cole hasn't given up on making her his queen. He wants her to stay with him and become a feeder so that she can overthrow the queen. But she isn't interested. All she wants is for things to go back to normal.
A shame things never seem to go as she wants.

So the book basically starts off the moment she exits the feed, and jumps around in time to show you what happened before the feed and what is happening after. I really liked the way Cole shows up, using his powers to manipulate Nikki and tries to get her back at any cost. She doesn't like him very much, obviously, because he used her before when she was with her current boyfriend, and he is doing everything in his power to mess up her perfect plan to fix her life with him and save herself from the tunnels.
It is certainly worth a read, as it is a new take on Teen Romance series and I am told it is to be a trilogy, which is always my favourite!
I gave is a 3 out of 5 star rating.
See you all next week, and have a great new year!
