Hey everyone, back again. Doing a quick write up while I'm in class because I need a break from my crushing stress. The author was kind enough to send me a copy of this book a few weeks ago. I read the first book in the series which was Forestium, and now changed to Joshua and the Magical Forest. This is the second book to that series and there is a third book on the way. It feels like it's been a million years since I first read the first book, but I still remember the details quite well. The author does a great job at creating a memorable world and characters. It was nice to see a second book that is written just as well as the first one. Hey everyone back again really quickly! I'm taking a brief break from the absolute hell-scape of homework, presentations, and papers that are all due on the same day. I haven't had time to read or to do any of my writing, which is the saddest part of all of this to me. But I need a break and I promised I would do a review for this book, so I shall. First things first, this is a zombie book. By far my favourite genre of books (if it can be considered its own separate genre). When I do get brief moments at school when I decide paying attention is for people going somewhere in life I like to reread a variety of different zombie novels. If there's anything I've learned from studying them it's that to stand out among the many out there it has to be unique. And this book is unique in the way that it draws off the classic zombie story. Hey everyone. Sorry for the late review on this one. I had meant to have this done for Monday morning but I had a very busy weekend taking care of an injured baby squirrel. But it's with the humane society now so I have time to write the review. The book came out just last week so I haven't missed the boat by too much here. I've already read and reviewed two other books by this author that have no connection to this one (as far as I can tell). It is also one in a series of other books, according to Goodreads, but they also don't have any connection. So it is a standalone book in a series with the same general name, The Soul Mate Tree. I won't be working so much so I'm hoping I'll actually want to read and write more often. And I'll start that by catching up on books I've read and writing the reviews for them. Hey everyone I hope you are having a good week. I missed last week because of work and interviews but I did actually finish a few books that I just didn't get around to writing reviews for. So expect a few in the next coming weeks, on time of course. So this is the first book of two that the author was kind enough to send me. Happy Monday everyone! This is it, the last book in the Harry Potter series. By far the longest and, arguably, the best book in the series. Now that I'm finally finished I wish there were more books to read. I can happily say that I enjoyed this series. For those who have not yet read this series, whether they had seen the movies or not, I would recommend giving this a read. Now that I've finished reading the books I would like to rewatch the movies, even though I know I don't like them as much as the books. Some people may have a different view on this, it's just the way I feel. Let me tell you about it: Dumbledore is dead. The Order of the Phoenix is on the run. When I first started reading the series I didn't have much hope for finishing it. Now that I'm almost done I'm truly enjoying reading it more and more. Hey everyone I hope you're having a great Monday. As you can see I finally got back into reading the Harry Potter series after taking a very long time off. It started off as a way to listen to a book while taking my dog for a walk. When that wasn't moving as quickly as I can read I broke out the books again. I've had the third book pretty much since they time but I haven't had the time to read it. Finally I forced myself to sit down and finish it because I owed it to the lovely author who sent it to me to finish it. Well, now I'm done and ready to do the review. But now that I'm back at school I am finding the time to do some reading and have managed to get a few books read ahead of time. This book is one that was given to me for Christmas by my roommate. She also got the book for Christmas and was reading it at the same time as me. We both agreed that this is one of the best tellings of the struggles of a woman during World War Two. It's not a fiction book but it reads like one. This is a story told from the mouth of the woman who lived it, written out by a member of her family. Let me tell you a bit about it: Edith Beer is a Jewish woman who grew up in Germany during the lead up to World War Two. Hey everyone I hope you are all having a good Monday. This week I was lucky enough to be sent a copy of this book to read. It's about the size of an average book, just about 400 pages online but it is by no means a quick read. Like Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings there is a lot of the lore and different species to learn about. Along with that there is also the add on of other worlds with even more people. My first impressions of the book were that it was a little hard to get into. The cover of the book reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons, which I am a big fan. But as a player I know that there can be a lot to do before getting into the good parts of the story so I sort of felt that the book would be a little like that. Hey everyone, as promised here is the review that I didn't get a chance to finish last week. The author was kind enough to send me a copy that I spent the last couple weeks reading. Going into this book I wasn't sure what to make of it. My thoughts were that it would be a classic science fiction book with time travel but I wasn't sure what the story really was going to be about. It took me a couple chapters to get into it and to really understand what is going on. Let me tell you a bit about it: Violina and her friend Lux are not your ordinary hunters. Good evening everyone. This review is coming a little late since I had to work a double shift today. In the past I have reviewed another book by Mike Phillips, which you can also find in my blog. I liked the last book he wrote but this one blew me out of the water. Now, let me make this clear, this book isn't out just yet. This is an ARC that I received. If you are looking for a book that explores the lengths humans will go to follow their beliefs, through an unknown landscape with endless amounts of danger, this is the book for you. I had picked this book up after reading another non-fiction book since it was so good and got me in the mood for some historical reading. Some of you may know that I love history of World War Two and anything going on during the periods of war. This book seemed right up my alley but I didn't enjoy it like I had hoped I would. It took me twice as long to read as a normal book simply because I kept putting it down. But let me tell you a bit about it: During World War Two there were many planes that flew all over the world fighting and keeping peace. Of the many planes and pilots that didn't make it home one sparked rumours through a country. An American bomber that crashed landed in Palau was not found despite reports of it crashing in shallow clear waters. People reported seeing the crew make it out of the plan before it crash...

Hey everyone I hope you are all having a great Monday!  A couple weeks ago I decided that I would finally watch the new Star Wars, which came out in theatres long enough ago that it is coming out on DVD. And I truly enjoyed the movie. After finishing it I went straight to Kobo.com and bought the book (as well as reading the original script to the movie). Since I am a bit behind on my reading due to work and personal matters I thought I would do a quick review for this book. The book is a novelization of the movie but I have often read novelizations in the past and they have been pretty good. I found that in this book there was more information given to stories than was portrayed in the movie. This is probably because Alan Dean Foster read the original script (see, my crazy is more research than anything else) where he would have seen the stories that were cut from the final product. I had heard from many people over the year that this was a book that was worth reading. And I have to say, they were right. I will say, after reading it, that the first little bit was boring. A few times I found myself questioning what was really interesting in the read. But as I went on I realized that even though nothing huge was going on the story itself was still interesting. Many of you may know that I love a good apocalypse story. This was an end of the world story that doesn't involve zombies, viruses, or anything unnatural. It was just the survival story of a family in a very bad situation. But let me tell you a bit about it: Everyone in town is talking about the asteroid that is going to hit the moon. When I was in high school two of my friends were very into this series and I used to hear them talk about it all the time. At the time I was interested in a different sort of books so I never thought about reading them until now, when I was in the need of some well rated popular books. I loved the idea of everyone older than 14 being a danger to society. Some of you may remember that a few weeks ago I read Quarantine where anyone in their teen years was the danger to the adults. This contrast works greatly when read back to back because you get to see two complete opposites of the same sort of story. Big difference with this books than most I read, it is set in London, England instead of the USA. It's a great change in my opinion. In the US it is much easier to get guns than it is in England (so I have been told) so the children had to actually be creative in finding ways to fight off the adults and defend themselves. Hey everyone I hope you are having a good Monday. A few weeks ago someone reached out to me about downloading this book from Kobo or Amazon since it was free. I figured, since it was a free book, I didn't have much to lose. I checked out some of the other ratings for this book, as I normally do to get a few different opinions before forming my own, and it didn't look promising. While I always look at the lowest and highest review for the differing opinions I found it hard to find a good review. For my own opinion I tried not to think too much about the negative things I read. The author didn't have the strongest voice and I had a problem with the dialogue since it wasn't very realistic. The story itself had promise but I found it was just another take on a popular topic. This book has been on my list for a very long time. I loved the idea of a story set in the setting of a high school where the children were not able to get out. It almost sounded like my high school experience, except I did eventually escape. The author had a strong voice and told the story in a much different way than I expected. I had thought that it would start before the virus and then slowly make its way through what happens during and after. Instead the virus is mentioned briefly and the chapters skip ahead in time quickly to keep up with the interesting information.
