K's Book Review

Hello again everyone! Many years ago I started reading Marked, the first book in the house of night series because an old friend of mine asked me to check it out for her. I already knew everything that was going to happen in the book before I was starting it, but I still went for it non-the-less. This review is not only for the first book, even though that is all I am going to give the description for to avoid massive spoilers, but the entire series that I had read before giving up.  Meet Zoe who has just been marked. If you are wondering what it mean to be 'marked' it is when you are chosen to become a vampire and a crescent moon appears on your forehead meaning you have to go study at the Tesla House of Night until you either become a full vampire or you die. Hey everyone, just finished reading a classic "Wuthering Heights" for my English class. Normally I wouldn't do a book I did for class for a review but I thought I would change it up a bit. Basically this book is separated into two different stories containing generation one and generation two. In generation one we meet Cathy, Heathcliff and Linton who's lives are mixed together from the Heights where Cathy and Heathcliff live to the Grange where Linton lives.  Throughout the story it is told from the point of view of the housekeeper Nelly Dean who watches Cathy struggle as she grows. She has to make the choice between marrying the man she truly loves, and marrying for money and a strong and promising future for her family. The choice she makes will either make or break her. In the second part of the story, also told from Nelly's point of view, we meet Cathy's daughter, Cathy (don't ask) and we learn about how she struggles after the choices her moth...

Hey everyone! Just finished reading Partials by Dan Wells, a book recommended to me by my best book buddy who always finds me good next series to read. All in all it was a good book with a good story line and a fantastic lead up. Meet Kira, a new medic in the time after the war with the partials where a group of man made robots that had human DNA released a deadly virus called RM virus that killed almost all of humanity. Kira and a small group of other survivors have created their own civilisation where they try to find the cure for the virus as it kills any new born child. So basically, in the last 11 years since the partial war ended and all the partials disappeared, not a single child has been born. Kira is 16 and is working hard to find the cure before the pregnancy age, the age that all woman must start getting pregnant and remain pregnant as long as they can, is dropped from 18 to 16. H ey everyone! Today I haven't read a book, or I did but I'm not doing the review for until next week, but I am finally doing a review on one of my absolute favourite books of all time. Today, the review will be on L.J Smith's book trilogy The Forbidden Games. For this, even though it is a trilogy, I will only be doing the first book because I don't want to give away spoilers for those of you who haven't read them yet and are planning on getting to it. We start off being introduced to Jenny, the main character to our story. She is shopping for a game to play at the birthday party she is throwing for her long time boyfriend, Tom. Hey everyone, finished last weeks read Tempest Rising. Now I didn't have high hopes going into this book. I was right when I found I couldn't really relate to it. When you read a book you have to have some sort of connection to the main character so that you can easily put yourself in their place and enjoy the story. But Tempest, the main character in this case, is not something your average every day girl can relate to. Meet Tempest, who is about to turn 16 (I think). Her mom left her to live in the ocean when she was young. Oh yeah, her mom is a mermaid. Tempest experienced some bad crap with the ocean when she was younger and blames herself (kinda) for her mom leaving. All she has is a note from her mom saying that when she turns 16 she will have the choice to turn into a mermaid or stay on land. Kay. Hello again everyone! It is Monday which means it is time to upload a review on my latest book series!!!!! This week I set out to read the Faerie Path, an odd book with many ups and downs. All in all it wasn't all that bad a book, but in the end I don't know if I would read the next book in the series. I suppose I will, only because the story isn't quite complete, but if it doesn't get better I'm done. So we meet Anita, who is about to turn sixteen and is going to tell the boy of her dreams that she loves him. But the day before her birthday her and the boy Ethan get into an accident and they end up in the hospital for a few days. Hey everyone, just finished reading The Hobbit, by Tolkien. As most of you know I have been diving into my geek side lately and have been reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy. To finish off the series I read the Hobbit.  Now don't angry at me for saying this, but I truly loved the Hobbit more than I liked the trilogy. I found there wasn't so much to remember, and they didn't feel the need to explain everything in such great a detail. The characters were loveable, and the storyline was great. We meet Bilbo from the first book of Lord of the Rings, who just wants to go about his lively hood as normal, when a strange wizard Gandalf comes to his home and invites him on a great journey with twelve dwarves to reclaim their homeland in the mountains. The only problem is of course that their mountain home was once claimed by a dragon that still lives there. Bilbo's job? To get into the mountain and defeat the dragon while he is confused by the sight of the Hobbit. Now B...

Hey everyone, just finished reading Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea. Preordered this book only for it to come in the next day, had to laugh at that, and I wasn't really sure what to expect. I've been trying to read new books, or at lease start new series lately, because to be honest the series I have been reading are getting too long, suck now, or aren't coming out until 2014. Bleh. So any way, this was an interesting read, because the characters were different, and the plots were all very unexpected. We meet Violet, who for the longest time I swore was named Anna, no clue why. Hey everyone! Just finished reading a Witch in Winter by Ruth Warburton, and here is my review. To be completely honest I had high hopes going into this book, it seemed promising with witches and love and friendship and all that snazzy jazz. And it took me a while to get used to the fact that this book was clearly written for the british audience, as the language is not what I am used to.  All in all though the book wasn't bad, and was well written despite the fact that it isn't what I am used to. Nothing wrong with that right? We meet Anna, a girl who just moved into Winter with her dad. She had trouble fitting in and starts to show interested in Seth Waters, the rumoured bad boy of the town with quite a history. The only problem with him is that he has a girlfriend. Hey Everyone, just finished reading the Demon in the Golden Mask for this weeks book. Now this is a weird book because you can only buy the book on Lulu.com. I found it by accident and thought I would give it a try.  The story is based around a really weird girl Sam who sees people as masked figures hiding behind secrets instead of actual people. And because of this she finds that she hates talking to them. The only person she likes is Shane, her best friend since childhood who always tells her the truth so that she won't hate him. But he IS hiding a secret from her, one that isn't safe for anyone to know. And Sam knows he might be keeping a secret, but she doesn't know what it is until Shane's dead body is found by his parents. Heartbroken and confused Sam tries to piece things together.
