Hey everyone! I am hoping this is coming to you on Wednesday. If not, then well the stupid machine isn't working properly. Whatever.  If you are getting this message then thankfully it worked and hopefully you should be getting one on Friday as well. Hello again everyone, this week I read The Librarian's Daughter, which was send to me as an advanced copy by the lovely author and Goodreads. Have to say, I didn't know what exactly to expect going into this book, and I wasn't disappointed by story. It had a good flow to it, the characters were pretty cool, and the author clearly put a lot of work into making it. Meet Abi, who's aunt and only guardian has just passed away. Forced from her home she spends some time with her cousin and her stupid husband, who seems more like a jerk than anything else (even for a lawyer). She doesn't plan on staying too long, just long enough to find a place to live, but she finds the perfect job, meets a cute guy, and seems to have everything going for her. Hey guys, today I want to take the time to appreciate all the 'in-between' books. Now, you might ask yourself, what is an 'in-between' book? Well, an in-between book is any novella or short story that happens on the side of a good story. So that is mostly 0.5 books (prequels) or 1.5 books (Stories happening between the first and second books). These stories don't always have to be read to understand the book, but they are always a good read and might answer some small questions that you have been asking yourself that the original story only lightly touched on. A lot of the time you will see these books from the point of view of someone besides the original narrater,  and these people always give you more of a look on the story than what you normally see. By doing this the author is giving you either a sneak peak at what is to come, or they are trying to answer questions that they know their readers have been asking, but it is too inconvenient for them to answ...

Hey everyone, just finished reading a classic "Wuthering Heights" for my English class. Normally I wouldn't do a book I did for class for a review but I thought I would change it up a bit. Basically this book is separated into two different stories containing generation one and generation two. In generation one we meet Cathy, Heathcliff and Linton who's lives are mixed together from the Heights where Cathy and Heathcliff live to the Grange where Linton lives.  Throughout the story it is told from the point of view of the housekeeper Nelly Dean who watches Cathy struggle as she grows. She has to make the choice between marrying the man she truly loves, and marrying for money and a strong and promising future for her family. The choice she makes will either make or break her. In the second part of the story, also told from Nelly's point of view, we meet Cathy's daughter, Cathy (don't ask) and we learn about how she struggles after the choices her moth...

Hey everyone! Now this post is going to be a bit different then what you all are used to. Normally I would show you a picture of the book I read, tell you a bit about it, and then rate it. But today I am going to tell you about a series, not at all related, but at the same time, has a lot to do with each other. It is called the 'Dear Canada' series. Each book, and there are a lot of them, has a different writer, and a different story from the perspective of either a little girl or a little boy. From book to book they are in the form of a Diary from the children's point of view of events that changed Canada greatly. The first one I read took place during the Halifax explosion, and described from the little girl's perspective how she loses her family, and how she suffers with her town. Alright everyone, hello again. Just finished reading Starling, so let's get to it. I have been splurging on books lately, reading them by the dozens, instead of only one a week like I had planned. To be honest, I think I am getting addicted (though there are much worse things I could be doing) I had a few problems with this book, which I will get into after the description, but other than that it wasn't a terrible waste of my time. Meet Mason, girl, who is on the fencing team at her University in New York City. Hey everyone! Just finished reading Partials by Dan Wells, a book recommended to me by my best book buddy who always finds me good next series to read. All in all it was a good book with a good story line and a fantastic lead up. Meet Kira, a new medic in the time after the war with the partials where a group of man made robots that had human DNA released a deadly virus called RM virus that killed almost all of humanity. Kira and a small group of other survivors have created their own civilisation where they try to find the cure for the virus as it kills any new born child. So basically, in the last 11 years since the partial war ended and all the partials disappeared, not a single child has been born. Kira is 16 and is working hard to find the cure before the pregnancy age, the age that all woman must start getting pregnant and remain pregnant as long as they can, is dropped from 18 to 16. But after her best friend, who is basically her sister, gets pregnant, and she realises...

Hey everyone! Just finished reading a Witch in Winter by Ruth Warburton, and here is my review. To be completely honest I had high hopes going into this book, it seemed promising with witches and love and friendship and all that snazzy jazz. And it took me a while to get used to the fact that this book was clearly written for the british audience, as the language is not what I am used to.  All in all though the book wasn't bad, and was well written despite the fact that it isn't what I am used to. Nothing wrong with that right? We meet Anna, a girl who just moved into Winter with her dad. She had trouble fitting in and starts to show interested in Seth Waters, the rumoured bad boy of the town with quite a history. The only problem with him is that he has a girlfriend. After inviting a few friends over to the house they all try a love spell out of a book she finds which goes bad when the next day she finds that it worked and Seth is madly (And obsessively) in love ...

Hey Everyone! Just finished Blood Red Road by Moira Young. This book was interesting, though still good. The grammer is horrible, but it is written as though the girl never learned to speak or spell. Which is exactly what fits the main Character Saba. Saba lives in a isolated town with her dad, her twin brother Lugh and her sister Emmie. One day 5 men on horses come and kidnap her brother and kill her father. Saba sets out on a crazy journey to save him and meets some interesting people along the way. One of my favorite characters, which doesn't get all that interesting until book 2, is DeMalo, the Tonton leader who has a thing for Saba. I would most certainly recommend reading both books in the series, but be warned about the writing. You have to read a lot into the book before you start to get used to the writing. But I would say you should read through it all the way. 4 our of 5 stars.

Hey everyone, just finished reading Eye of the Crow by Shane Peacock. He is a local in my area and I know a lot of his family. Not only that, but I have a meeting with him at the end of the month. I am very excited! So that is one of the reasons I decided to read this book. It is the first the the boy Sherlock Holmes stories. This is his very first case! When Sherlock is out one day he hears of a murder, and somehow gets caught up in the whole thing after he is blamed. So as his first case it is his duty to become a fugitive to prove himself innocent.  I really enjoyed this read, though it isn't at all what I am used to reading. I would suggest reading it if you have not already. Shane is a great guy and is very creative as you can easily see through his writing. 4 out of 5 stars

ONYX!!!!!! I have been waiting for this book to come out for sooooooo long! The first post I ever posted on this blog was Obsidian, the first book in this series. This is the second book, and this was relatively good. Although this book was not as mind blowing like the first book, a lot of stuff happened. We continue where we left off, with Katy and Daemon. This is a couple I seriesly love, almost more so than Damon and Elena. This book has a lot of surprises and betrayals that were not expected at all. I can't tell you guys anything that happens in this book otherwise it would completely ruin the first book.  I can tell you that it is a really great book, and it leaves a lot open for the next book, Opal. I loved the characters and the developments even though there was a lot of repetition in some things said from Daemon to Katy. I would rate this Four out of Five stars.

Hello again everyone! Today I finally finished Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. To be completely honest about this book, my expectations might have been a bit too high going into this. It was good, with a good story line, but the characters.... I just couldn't get into them. Not even the love interest Demitri. You start off the story by meeting Rose, the main character, and Lissa. They are running from these people, not saying who, who want to bring them back to the Vampire Academy. Of course, they get caught and are brought back. There we learn that Rose is Lissa's guardian and that Lissa is a princess and a very powerful vampire.  After that things basically go back to, what they say, things were before they ran away. Rose is portrayed as quite the slutty character by the author. She states many times that Rose makes out with boys she barely knows over and over again. You are introduced to the bad guys, the strigio, and some potential bitch characters like Mia, who ...

Hello again everyone! The book you see above is Divergent by Veronica Roth. It was recommended to me by a good friend who after shoving it in my face for days finally convinced me to move it to the top of my list.  Overall, it was a good book that was well written. The characters are well developed with good back stories and secrets. Come the end of the book I honestly didn't expect what happened to happen. You start off with Beatrice, part of the faction of Abnegation which is all about selflessness. Her whole life she has been told it is her duty to give to others until the choosing ceremony her and her brother must go to. They have six factor choices at this ceremony. They can choose to be Erudite, all about seeking knowledge. They can be Candor, all about telling the truth. They can choose Amity, the hippies of the group. They can choose Dauntless the brave daredevils that protect the cities. Or they can choose to stay Abnegation with their parents. Beatrice's brothe...

Okay, so let me start off by saying WHAT AN AMAZING FINISH! Look at that cover! Something so amazing calls for high expectations. And Endlessly has lived up to it completely. I have never heard one bad thing about this book. It is another third and final book in the Paranormalcy trilogy.  Main character Evie teams up with the unpredictable Jack, and to everyone's surprise and joy, Reth, to, first of all, save Lend who get's captured by the Dark Queen and then open a gate for all the paranormals in existence.   But of course nothing is as simple as it seems. Reth is still up to his mischievous ways, and in every way showing signs of being crazy. For some reason he is convinced that once the gate is open Evie is going to give up her life and her boyfriend to go into paradise with him. While at the same time Evie is trying to live with the fact that she can't walk into the same room as Lend without him passing out. With time running out and the people closest to ...

Hello everyone! I have started reading a little earlier then I had originally planned, and this is thankfully the first book I started with. So this is Bound, the third and final book in the Torn series by Erica O' Rourke. Let me just say, an amazing end to the series. The character I love the most, not saying which one ;), ends up with the main character and everything ends in a perfect way.  Of course there is a very long and crazy action filled scene, a few secrets everyone is hiding, and betrayals from people you honestly saw it coming from. I loved this book every page of the way. There were a few points where I wasn't sure whether I was happy or angry with where the story was going, but everything worked out in the end.  I would definitely recommend this book to others to read. And in my book it get's four stars for it's amazingly developed characters.  

Hello everyone, the book you see above is Destined by Aprilynne Pike. This is the fourth and final book in the Wings series, a series I just started reading a few months ago.  I have to say I fell in love with this series from the very beginning. I loved Tamani, the fairy guard that was sent to watch Laurel our stories main character. In this story Yuki and Klea are on the prowl. A winter fairy, the most powerful of them all, Yuki hopes to help Klea destroy Avalon so that they can take over and rule. But as you know if you read the series Laurel and her friends won't stand by and let that happen. Together with Chelsea, David and Tamani by her side Laurel prepares for a battle for the safety of all fairies. Many will die and many will find that they are destined to do better things, just like David did. There is always some sort of action going on that keeps you one hundred percent attached to the pages, turning the pages so frantically that I got at least two paper cuts...

Hello again everyone, I just finished reading Dark Frost by Jennifer Estep, the fourth book in the Mythos Academy series. Gwen and friends start their day with an exciting trip to the museum, that turns horrible when they are attacked by reapers. Gwen comes face to face to sword with the women her killed her mother, and though the battle is intense the girl gets away before Gwen, with her trusty sword Vic, can end her life. Back at the academy things are finally going back to normal after the attack at the ski resort before the break. But now the Fenrir wolf that Gwen helped in the previous book is back as well, carrying a tiny surprise in HER stomach ;) While Gwen is searching up and down trying to find the dagger that her mother his before her death she has to deal with a few problems that seem to keep coming up. I'm sorry everyone, but I can't lie to you about this book... It was a back up book so I didn't have very high expectations, and yet it still fell so low below my book standards. I have never really felt any need to read books on werewolves, or Guardians as they call them in the book, but I had heard good things about this one and the cover caught my attention. And to be honest, when I started reading it, it wasn't all that bad. You have Calla, or Lily as her soon to be mate Ren calls her, Shay who she saved from a bear attack, and Ren Calla's to be mate who is the alpha wolf from a rival pack.  Calla is an interesting character in this book because, though she tells herself she is strong, she always ends up giving into both men who want her heart. And don't be mistaken, she has never really liked Ren, their mating is something that the witches, or Keepers, are forcing them to do. So above you can see that I have recently finished reading Angelfire by Courtney Allison Moulton. And to be completely honest about this book I am on the fence about whether or not I liked it...  It was one of my back up books, a book that I would only read if the books I ordered didn't arrive before I finished my other books, so I didn't have very high expectations of it. But it wasn't the worst book I've ever read I'll say that much. You have Ellie, a girl who seems pretty normal with normal friends living a normal life.
